AMUNDSEN DRIVING FOR THE POLE
♦ TWO MEMBERS OF EXPEDITION LOST. Rome, September 10 The Norwegian Vice-Consul has received a roport that Captain Amundseu started for Wrangel Island on July 28, over the ice,, in an attempt to drive for the pole. Two members of the expedition started homeward from ICrasnogarsk. The Russian Government has reported that they perished. Captain Amundsen believed they, were the victims of a crime.—United Service.
