TROUBLE ABOARD THE MOERAKI
, o FIREMEN AND STEWARDS FALL OUT. The intercolonial steamer Mooraki did not sail yesterday for Sydney and Hobart owing to differences between the stokehold crew and the stewards. The firemen and. trimmers objected to sailing with the ship's cook, and the stewards objected to sailing without him. This has caused a deadlock, and unless it is overcome to-day the vessel may be further delayed. She will bo unablo to loiivo before 3 p.m. at the earliest. The Moernki's arti'clcs expired on Wednesday, on her arrival from Sydney, and when they we-re to he renewed the men declined Ho sign. The opposing parlies have expressed their intention to see the matter through. Officials of the Cooks and Stewards' Union and of the Senmen's Union had no statements to make yesterday.
