MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL

Tho fortnightly meeting of the Mirnmar Boiough Council was hold on Tuesday. There were present the Mayor (Mr. K. M. Stone, in the chair), Councillors M'Vioar, Barnett, ltobertshaw, and Telford.

A special order for the raisins of a loan of JC4OOO for sewage and drainage purposes was confirmed, and a special rate of 5.32 d. to provide for repayment of the loan was struck. A letter was received from, thb Wellington Harbour Board with reference to a shelter 6hed and' conveniences on Seatonn wharf. It wns decided to confer with tho board on the matter. It was decided that the seal of tho council b* affixed to a octition to the Governor-General with reference to amalgamation with the City of Wellington. The borough engineer's report for tho four weeks ended August 31 stated that 11 building! permits had been issued during the period, to the value of £20,479. Connections with' the water main now total 575, and with sowers 118. Considerable planting had been done in various reserves, especially at Mornorgan Road.
