GREAT SCORE BY HOBBS. (Rec. September 15, 8.20 p.m.) London, September 11. In their match against the Rest of England, Middlesex made 318 runs. Wilf?m took four wickets for U runs, DougIns three for Gl, Rhodes ono for 27, Woollev one for 4G, Parkin one for 57, and Hitch none for 07. Tho Rest of England have five wickets down for GO3 runs. They wore five and a half hours batting, and there was brisk scoring throughout. Hobbs and Russell knocked up tho first hundred in forty-five minutes. The first wicket fell for 185 runs in hinetythree minutes. Tho i-ccond wicket, Hobbs's. fell at M 7, after being ICG minutes at the wicket. Hobbs was brilliant, and made 215 in his best form. Russell made Si, Tyldesley G(i, Woolley 71, Holmes U, and Douglas 69 not out — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
