CITY COUNCIL BY-ELECTION

IMPORTANT TO DISTRICT ELECTORS. Ab election, to fill the vacancy on the City Council caused by tho death of Mr. George Frost, will hike- place to-morrow. There are only two candidates, Messrs. W. J. Gaudin and T. Brindle (the nominee of the Labour Party). Mr. Gaudin is a member of tho Council of the Central Chamber of Commerce and the Progressive League, and is an old resident Qf Wellington Mr. Brindle was the Labour candidate for Gisborne at the last Parliamentary election, and was beaten at tho poll by both Mr. \V. D. Lysnar and Sir James Carroll.

By advertisement in this issue all Labour sympathisers are asked to record their voto for Mr. Brindle, tho official Labour candidate.
