NEW ZEALAND JEWRY SUBSCRIBES .£20,000. Mr. Israel Cohen, the emissary of tho executive of tho Zionist organisation, who arrived in New Zealand on August 21, will leave to-day by the Moernki for Sydney. He has delivered twelve addresses at public meetings held in Auckland. Wellington, Christuhurch, and Dunodin-, besides speaking at a private gathering in Masterton, and spending a few days at Sotorua. The result of his aypeal to the Jews of New Zealand for the Palestine Restoration Fund has been to raise a sum of £20.000. In addition to this Mrs. David L. On the eve of his departure from New Zealand Mr. Israel Cohen issued the following message:—"l should like to express my sincerest thanks to all those who have contributed to the success of mv mission in New Zealand—a success that has exceeded my anticipations. 1 am grateful to the Government and civic authorities for the cordial welcome they have extended to me, to the public for the sympathetic hearing they have always accorded to me, and to the Press for' the publicity and .editorial support it has so readily given to my campaign. I thankfully acknowledge the very generous response made to my appeal by tho Jewish community, which, though smalt in numbers, has set an excellent example to all the Jews in the rest of the world.. I shall always retain tho happiest memories of my .brief yet fruitful visit to this .peaceful and prosperous Dominion."
