WELLINGTON AMATKUB CHAMPIONSHIP. Two more games in tho first round or tho Wellington amateur championship were played in Alcock's booms last night. The first game was between Sayer, of thu Returned Soldiers' Club, and Tyrell. of the Post and Telegraph Club. Saycr, who was HufTering somewhat from war disabilities, was not quito up to hia usual form, with the result t'-at Ills piny was inconsistent at times, :'nd at others really brilliant. During the game the players passed each other en-two or three occasions. when Tyrell'! scoro Etood at £06 and Bayer's at 166. The latter made a n : co break from closo cannons of £5, and got ill tho lead, hut from then on could do nothing right. The fr.al soores were: Tyrell, 300; Sayer, .263. Saycr made breaks of 33, 25, and 20. ' Tyrell's best were 22, 20. 19. The second game was between two Federal clubinatcs—Duncan and Garforth. IV latter player soon pot anead of bis opponent, the scores reading, very early in tho game; OarfortH, 121; Duncan, 83. After some give-and-ta!'o rlay, Garforth made a nice all-round break of 43, and at tlr.s sfagc the scores were: Garforth, 236; Dun' can, 173. He followed tills up rapidlv with a lirealt of 44. and ran to his 2CO points when Duncan's score stood at 164. The games for this evening are:—7 p.m.. TuMtcr (Federal Club) plays itricc (Pctono Club), and at 8.15 p.m. Harrison (Post Office Club) plays Bait (Working Men a Club).
