MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. J. S. Evans, 8.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Convicted of his second offence for drunkenness John Wynn was fined 10s. and Albert \V. Kirkland, 20s. for. his third . offence.. » William Adams. Jeremiah Sullivan, and Edgar Mac Donald, seamen on the s.s. Manana, admitted that they had been absent, without leave from that vessel.. TTie captain of the steamer asked that an example should be made of,.them, as the discipline on the steamer mußt bo maintained. Each man was sentenced to 14 days' lmnrisonment. Hugh W. Cathcart and Alexander M'Lean were convicted of committing indecent acts In Lambton Quay, and were each fined 40s. with 9s. costs.
