The Washington correspondent of the "New York Times" reports that immigration is increasing rapidly with indications that the pre-war record will be equalled this year. The Commissioner of Immigration is desirous that the new arrivals should seek industrial cento and this has tended to increase tho housing difficulties in New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia, and has left tho farming sections without needed help.—-Aus.-N.Z.
