WAR TROPHIES

p. A SCHEDULE COMPILED. The War Museum Committee has compiled a schedule of the various war trophies now in the Dominion, and has Tecominended a distribution of a number of the guns and trench mortars to each of the four military districts. Schedules showing the number and nature of the guns allocated will be sent to each of the officers commanding districts, who upon receipt of same will assemble the committees set up in their districts to arrange for a detailed allocation to be made. By instructions' of the Government, the following additions will be made to the personnel of the district committee of county councils. chairmen of town boards, and chairmen of road boards. After the district committees have made their allocation cf these trophies, tho chairmen will forward to General Headquarters, Wellington, particulars of the number and nature of the gnns allotted to the various public bodies and the addresses to which they are to be sent. The Director of Ordnance Sorvices will then arrange for their dispatch. Tho captured war trophies in the Dominion include 11 siege guns, 25 howitzers, 106 field guns, 80 trench mortars, nnd 1500 machine-guns. Special selections are being retained for the National War Museum.
