The Whakatane School Committee yesterday resolved to forward to Mr. Hockly, jCI.P., a strong protest against the Legislature empowering medical inspectors of schools to compel parents to provide the treatment recommended. Some speakers coft.iinded that the law would bo incomplete unless the cost of ■ such treatment was defrayed bv the State, <md declared that the proposal harshly pcualised family men, many of whom were unable to pay expensive, medical fees.
