A farewell presentation was made on Monday eveninsr to Mr. A. S. Green, who is leavintt the district to take un a farm in the Kinc Country. Tho recent teteeraphic match, Nclr.on v. Canterbury, resulted in an easy win for Canterbury, who scored nine cames to Nelson's four. One incomplete came cannot affect the result. There was a keen BtrucKlc at Board 1 between E. 11. Sovernc (Nelson) and K. Andersen IChristchurch). This game, which war, nlayed over the board in Christchnrch. required a third sittins. Sevcrno ultimately won, thereby further enhancing his splendid match record. Tho Auckland v. Otaeo teleKraphic match ended In a handsome win for the former side, the final tally bcinc Auckland 6. Otazo n. drawn 2. incomplete 4 (which cannot affect the result). J. C. Gricrson (Auckland) won from A. \V. 0. Davics (Dnncdin) at the top board. The telctrraphic match Masterton v. Napier ended in an easy win for Masterton by 8 Raines to 2. The two incomplete eamea are beinc adjudicated on. John Mason (New Zealand champion in 1910) scored from his old congress opponent, F. Kummcr, at Board 1. On Thursday ovenine North Wairarapa defeated South Wairarapa at Greytown by 61 flames to 3*. Interest chiefly centred in (he contest nt the ton board, where F. Kummcr (Mamterton) scored from J. A. Council (Oartorton). A return match is to bo played at Mattcrtou shortly.
