Herald (Gteec.; was unplaced. Tho final of the 200 metres (218.7 yards) breast-stroke was won hy Mnlmaoth in Smin. i 2-ssec. Stedman was unplaced. The final result of tho modern Pentathon gives a Swede (with four first* places) first. An American is sixth, a British competitor eleventh. In the first round of Hie football competition, Norway beat. England by 3 to 1. The Norwegian victory was thoroughly deserved, although it was a great surprise, England being a, warm favourite. England had four men injured. In the final of the ladies' diving, Miss Fryland (Denmark) beat. Aliss Armstrong (England) by one point.
