CANADIAN CHALLENGER'S LETTER TO LIPTON. (Eec. August 30, 8.35 p.m.) Ottawa, August 30. The- Canadian' yachtsman, Air. A. C. Ross, has published au open letter to Sir Thomas Lipton asking him cither to withdraw his declared intention to challenge for the America Cup in 1921 or 1923, or agree to make the next race a triangular one. Mr. Eoss also asks for a change .of course and class of yachts, pointing out that public interest in the last races waned owing to the failure of the Shamrock and Resolute to .answer requirements in a realty heavy wind — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
