CHARGE AGAINST THE REPUBLICANS

Interest has been created by Governor Cox's charges that i'he Republicans are raising a fifteen mfllliori dollar campaign fund 'with which to purchase the Presidency. Important Republican newspapers are asking Senator Harding to. disprove the charges and declare that no large contributions will be permitted in the Republican fund. Other newspapers bitterly assail I Governor Cox. declaring he is employing old-time tricks to discredit his- opponent.—Aus.N.Z. Cable. Assn. ALLEGED BRITIsFcONTRIBUTION FOR DEMOCRATS CHARGES BEING INVESTIGATED. (Rec. August 29, 11.5 p.m.) New York, August 27. At Chicago the Senate Committee investigating campaign funds has requested Mr. Britton to appear to substantiate his charges that British money had contribuiied to the Democratic fund. The committee also asked Governor Cox to submit evidence to prove his charge regarding the Republican fund.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
