STABBING AFFRAY
ARREST OF A NORWEGIAN. Further particulars of tho stabbing afl'rny which occurred at Pirinoa, about 25 miles from Martinborough, on Thursday night, have hcen received by tha poiice. It appears Mint a Norwegian named Alexander Lundquist and another mini wem quarrelliiif.'. and a third man, a luilf-caste named Mason Coulston, attempted to intervene. It. is alleged that Lundquist then attacked Coulston and stabbed him in tho.. ribs with a knife. Coulston was removed to tlio Greytown Hospital, and on Saturday afternoon his condition . was reported to be critieaL Lundquist. was brought before the. Court at Martinborough and was remanded in custody for eight days. The prisoner was subsequently brought to Wellington, awl is ut present lodged in tho Terrace Gaol.
