SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST CITY COUNCILLOR

ing a girl over the age of 15 and under 16. Chief Detectivo Bishop, .who prosecuted,' suggested that the Court, which was crowded, should be cleared as "the details of the case were'pretty bad." The Magistrate (Mr. -Bartholomew) then ordered tlio'Court to be cleared, arid forbade tho publication of. details of the evidence. The accused, who reserved hi' defence,. was committed for trial,, bail being allowed.
