, GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE TO NEW COMPANY. By Teleeraph-Press Association. Timaru, August 23. The company Tecently inaugurated here by Mr. ft. L. Wigley, manager of tho Mount Cook Mo:br Company, to obtain aeroplanes for use over the southcm part of the South Island, met on Saturday, when Mr. Wigley stated that) ns a result of an''interview with the Air Board the Government had promised to give five machines—three this monfili and two to arrive later—the gift being made r to push forward civil aviation. The company intends to establish ' itfe headquarters at Timaru, and an aviation .ground, probably at Washdyke; In order to expedite'the matte* a syndicate is t'p be formed to procure a ground, accept the Government offer, and make arrangements to hand over to the company without charges.
