THE KING URGES SUPPORT FOR LORD HAIG'S APPEAL. (Rec. August 19, 0.10 a.m.) London, August 17. His Majesty the King has sent a letter to lords lieutenants, lord mayors, and loru provosts, emphasising that he is anxious that every effort should bo made to support Lord Haig's appeal oni behalf of unemployed ex-service men, requesting the recipients to co-operato whole-henrtedly to effaco what might be regarded bb a reflection on uhe fair name of our nation.—Router. i
