We havo been talking l all the week about Sanvudl Rzechcwski, writes the Paris correspondent of the "Observer." How is Samuel to be accounted for? You and I have played chess for years; wo have wrestled with problems and we have studied the masters. And then comes along a little Polish boy whose head hardly overtops tho table, and he takes on twenty of us at a time and makes our amateur strategy look silly. He is really an amazing phenomenon. Tho Rotonde in (he Palais-Royal' is one of tho best-known chess centres, and when this little fellow, eight years of age, disposed eo easily of its proudest champions, tho cafe was cast into consternation. What is tho explanation of this Gilbertian boy who begins his public career at five, and is now to bo classed with tho best exponents of this intricate game? It is not natural; and, like Bret Hartc's hero, one asks: "Is visions about?" London amateurs trill, I understand, soon havo an opportunity of judging for themselves of littlo Samuel's amazing skill. ,
