The position in connection with supplies of coal for domestic purposes shows little sign of improvement, and the stoppage of work at the State coal mines at the present juncture will add to tho difficulties of the local committee in providing necessary supplies for industries, public services, and householders, especially those who depend largely on the Staile ooal depot for supplies. The collier Kamo, which arrived hero on Tuesday last, has 60 far been unable to dischargo her cargo of State coal, owing to bad weather and other delays, but sho may commence discharge this morning. In the meantime, in cases where householders require coal immediately for prov.d cases of sickness, these aro being met as far as possible from reservo stocks created for this purpo.se by the "Welli«t<rton Coal Trade Committee, and to meot the convenience of suburban residents, the committee request that/ freer use of the telephone should be made, thus obviatinp the necessity of making personal application. In addition to the supplies to be discharged from the Kamo further allotments to other coal dealers will be made from the Komata, due from Wastport tins morning, but they are so far in arrears with their deliveries that 'his supply will assist them only in their endeavours to overtake orders already booked.
