COMMENT ON MINISTER'S FIGURES The Minister of Education (the Hon. C. J. Varr), in his reply on the ■.■Budget debate, while freely admitting that something'was due to the teachers m the :vav of salary increase, slated that the position of teachers was not so black, as painted, for they had received increases during the. war period equal to CO per cent. ' rn „ To a Dominion" reporter. Mr. T I'orj svih, as president ot the I\e\r Zealand Education Beards Association, stated that the rate of increase was appaientlj over-stated.
