The Hew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hawera branch report tor week ended July 31:~At Opunako, on Monday, wo had a fair yarding of all classes of stock, particularly yoims ana dairy cattle. Most of the yarding was Bold under tho hammer, and we managed to make a total clearance beforo leaving tho Yards. We quote :-Bonors, £31 19b., weaner helfcre, £3 4s. to £5; steers, it 7s. to £3 75.; dairy cows. Jerseys to ±zi, others, to £17; heifers, £11 15b. to £1610s. On Tuesday at Manaia wo held our fortnightly sale. Prices at lato rateß. At. Palmer Road on Friday a good number of young and erown cattle came forward. For Btoro cattle there was a keen demand, and we disposed of the whole yarding at Ulproved prices. We quote :-Fat, and forward cows, £8 17s. 6d.-to £10 17b.-6dj medium ditto, £6 6s. to £8 55.; others, to £5 Zs. M.; empty heifers, to £8 5b.; twentymonth steerr.. £5 Is.; weaner heifers (good quality and condition), £6; others, to £4 45.; best dairy cows, £26 10s.; others, to £17 10s.; heifers, £9 15b. to £17 10b.
