At a. large meeting ,of farmers and others, hold under the ausoiees of the Farmers' Union, the following resolutionwas passed:—"This ; public meeting of '■ farmers called under tho auspices of the Poverty 13ay Farmers' Union, desires to record .its approval of tho resolution adopted at the recent Dominion Conference of tho New Zealand .Parmeis' Union, protesting against the Government allowing Messrs. Armour and Co. end Vesty Bros, to operate in connection with tho freezing industry of this Dominion, and this meeting respectfully requests the Government ; to tak& imme- ! diato steps to prevent these firms from further'operating."; ,
