TECHNICAL COLLEGE
BOARD OP GOVERNORS. A of the Board of Governor* of tha Technical College was held last evening, the clinlrman of the board (Mr. G. Front) presiding. A letter was received from the Minister of Education with rcsncct to instructional farms, In which the Minister stated that the matter would receive consideration. With respect to the election of the nevr board the Wellington Industrial Aft'oclation wrote, asking tho board to receive a deputation from the association. Mr. li. B. Partridge said that the association was very sore about the matter. Members knpw what tte association had done for technical education. The first director (Mr. Riley) said at the time that the donation of £1500 made by tho association had saved technical education. j)s matters now stood the association had to submit to competition, for the association was bracketed v/iTff tile School Committees' Association, and as the latter wa« a strong body ' they could ensure tho election of their, nominee, which would moan that the Industrial would not have representation "on 'the l board. The election is to bo held next month.
The conference of technical directors is to he held in September and the Wellington Board will be represented by the director (Mr. J. H. Howell) Messrs. G. Frost (chairman of the board), Lawrence, and L, R. Partridge. <
