MINISTERIAL VISIT TO AKAROA

Ministers concerned requests for an increased subsidy ou the Lebons Bay mail contract, the claims of Akaroa to inclusion in the Tourist Department's publications, and the removal of the duty on ringed poles, 'flic last-named aro required for an extension of hydro-clectric power to the Peninsula, a loan of .£IOO,OOO for the purpose being authorised by the ratepayers last week. Local school requirements wero also brought under the notice of the Minister, nnd m regard to incidental-allowances he said it was his intention to ask the Premier to increase the grant this year 'by .£10.001).
