ANFU CAUSE COLLAPSED. (Rec. July 20, 1.30 a.m.) Peking, July 23. The Anfu cause has collapsed, and its news ageucies and newspapers are liquidating. Many of its leaders have sought refuge in the homes of foreign friends. The debacle is complete. The ex-Premier, Chin Yung Seng, is at present in Tientsin with a view to settling the peace terms. General Tuan Chi Jul, overcome by despondency, attempted suicide. His bodyguards prevented him carrying out his intention—Renter.
