GOLD FOR JAPAN
■ ♦ GREAT EXPORTS FROM THE . UNITED STATES.. (Rec. July 25, 5.5 p.m.j New York, July 23. Gold to the amount of 7500 dollars was shipped to Japan during the first lon days of July. It is thought that Japanese investments in the United States are 'boinf? liquidated and the proceeds cent to Japan—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Rec. July 26, 0.15 a.m.) New York, July 23. It is expected that four million dolors in gold will he sent to Tokio before the end of July. _ Mr. Akira Don, the Financial Commissioner, stated that neither the Japanese Government nor the Bank of Japan had any connection with this. gold export, which was only the normal exchange of private banks. Tho present total gold reserve held by the Government and the Bank 'of Japan, consisting of home gold reserve and credit abroad, amounts to 1,921,000,000 yen,—Au9.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
