GRADING OF TEACHERS
9 APPEALS IN AUCKLAND. By Telegraph-Press Aisoolation. Auckland, July 21. The Auckland Teachers' Appeal Board ftllowod twenty-threo out of 162 appeals by teachers against their positions on tho grading list, involving reduced Binaries. Mr. Cdughley, Assistant Director of Education, explained that the extent and redistribution of the reduction wore left entirely to tho discretion of tho Auckland inspectors, and the Department recorded the result exactly aa supplied by the inspectors. AVhen tho appeals were successful Hie appellants had brought forward evidence that thnir efficiency had increased to a greater extent than was recognised by tho inspectors, or that Bomo circumstances or facts had not been known to the inspectors at the time of grading. Practically all the decisions of the board were unanimous.
