POTATO SURPLUS
BEPEESENTATIONS TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. A deputation representing tho Canterbury potato-growers interviewed tho' Prime Minister and the Hon. W..Nosworthy (Minister of Agriculture) on Saturday for the purpose of urging .tho Government to, take further stops to induce tho Australian Government to remove its embargo oh the importation of New Zealand potatoes. Tho Prime Minister promised io send another cablegram to tho Commonwealth Prime Minister on the subject. He also promised that if this did not produce satisfactory results; O.binot. would consider the advisability of sending to Australia an officer of tho Department of Agriculture and a rcprctivo of the growers, to make further efforts to remove the handicap on the New Zealand growers in dealing with their heavy surplus of prodtico this season.
