RUMAILA GARRISON
BELIEVING COLUMN MEETS STRONG ENEMY FORCE. Simla, July 19. A column which is endeavouring to tslievo the garrison at Rumaila encountered the enemy two thousand strong four miles north-west of Rumaila.' After a prolonged engagement of severe fighting our attack was successful, the enemy being effectively bombed by aeroplanes and attacked by machine-guns. Tlio enemy suffered heavy casualties.—Reuter. ; GARRISON "RELIEVED. (Rec. July 23, 7.-15 p.m.) London, July 23. Mr. Churchill lias announced that tlio relief column reached Rumaila on July 22 and relieved the garrison.—Eeuter.
