Sir Arthur Goldfinch ; says liej anticipates that the profits on.Australian;wi?ol, subsequent 1 to March 31, ,1919, willj£be very much greater, and a. large profit"' will bo available for, division,-even allowing l'of the possibility of clme, He adds: "This docs not' ; fis>ly equally to New Zealand wool, a considerable portion of which consists of'Jjow and medium crossbrcds, which are cheaper to-day than in 1918." ' n^Sir Arthur Goldfinch says it is'■'•difficult to forecast the liquidation of'-wool accounts, If the sales proceed; uninterruptedly merinos and fine croesbreds 'will be sold out at the end of 1920, butvthe surplus of low and medium crossbred? possibly will bo sold gradually throughout 1921,—Au5.-N.Z. Cable Assn. FREE MARKETFOR AUSTRALIAN t CLIP NEWS WELL RECEIVED IN HOME TRADE CIRCLES. London, July 6. The news from Australia that woolgrowers will be acoorded a free market for the sale of the new clip is well re. ceived in wool trade circles, where it' is believed that better prices can bp realised than is possible in Australia, because the attendance of buyers is more restricted there, and competition is less keen. It haa not yet been decided whether the new wool consigned to I/mdon for sole will be Bold in competition with the unsold wool the Government has already purchased. It is believed that this oould be adjusted with the Government. Probably, before the Australian sales commence in October, arrangements will be made in conjunction with the British Troasury for the payment of substantial bonuses to growers on the Imperial wool account. Sir Arthur Goldfinch announces that the monthly London mictions will be continued. and the quantities gold will bo fixed according to the market require-ments—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
