LOWER HUTT COURT
The monthly sitting of the Ixnver Huti [Magistrate's Court was held on Wednesday. Messrs. J. Pearce, A. Chapman, and C. B. Robinson, J.l'.'s, dealt with by-law cases. Quite a long liqt of oharges lor exceeding the motor speed limit wure preferred by the borough inspector (Mi. W. L. Smith). The following were convicted and fined:—P. J. P. Bet.Jnish, L. Dawn, L. Evaus, P. J. Purcell, W. Bichmond, 20s. each, and costs 19s. fid.; If. A..Anderson, if. E. Andrews, E. S. Bayley, J. J. Burke, H. A. Bush, J. C. Crawford, H. F. Hanloh, and G. A. Hannah, 10s. each, and costs 19s. Gd, For riding a motor-cjole without lights W. Sticking was fined 2fls. and costs 13j. 6U. -■■-■ For riding bioycles without lights tho following were each fined ss. and 7s. costs:—James M'Lollan, "W. A. Smith, J. Wagg, and P. Wyher. The following cases were heard by Mr. W. G. Kiddell. S.M.:Judgment for plaintiff ,by default was given j.'i the following civil actions:— Collett and Co. v. T. Lockwood,. JiSTliis. Bd.; LowerTlutt Borough Council v. T. P. Foley, .£3 13s. 10d.; same v. C. J. Foley, £3 Ife. Bd. On the ground of failure to maintain, Mrs, A. A. Cameron was granted an jorder of separation and maintenance against her husband, A. B. Cameron, and for the guardianship of the child. His Worship filed the amount to bo contributed by the defendant at £2 weekly. Costs ;S2 2s. were allowed against defendant. At the hearing Mr. A, Pere appeared for the petitioner.
