A NEW POTATO

Certain varieties have one or other of these advantage, but nono three to a marked extent. Arran Victory is perhaps the nearest approach to the desired potato. The tubere are of attractive shape, with 'shallow eyes, whioh allows of their being easily peeked. Thoro is one factor, however, that might prejudice growers, the skin is dark purple. ' But it is becoming more generally realised that dark-colourod potatoes almost invariably possess excellent table quauti.es, and Arran Victory is no exception. Tho fl.osh is almost snow-white, and. is. floury and dry when boiled. Arran Victory can be distinguished readily from other varieties when growing by the strength and eiectrass of tho haulm,' which has dark green loaves, and the stem inclined to b reddish in places. With regard to disease, it has provod to be a strong resister of blight, besides being certified immune to wart disease. The tubers keep well, and ns a late cropper for wintor us# this variety is eminently reliable. '
