CABINET OF LABOUR
ESTABLISHMENT TO BE CONSIDERED AT TRADE CONGBESS. (Bee, July 1, 11.20 p.m.) London, July 1. Tho Trade Union Congress to be held at Portsmouth in September will consider a proposal to substitute an elected general council, numbering thirty, for the existing Parliamentary Committee, the idea being to. establish a permanent Cabinet of Labour, charged with the following duties:—To keep w(itch on industrial movements; co-ordinate industrial action; promote' common fiction by trade ■unions; aid in tlite settlement of disputes; assist in organisation and propaganda; enter into negotiations with foreign trade, unions with a view to promoting common action to secure international solidarity. The proposal involves an enlarged staff and the estimated cost is Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
