BEST EXHIBITION TOR YEARS PAST. Br Telegraph—Speoial -Correspondent , . Nelson,. July 1. The , thirty-third annual shmv of the Nelson Poultry Association was, opened to-day, and is said to be the best held here for yeare. The association has always held a high place among- the Dominldn associations, oWy one or two of which have more entries than Nelson. This year the entries..rnimtef 807. / A feature of the show i# the collection of Old English Game, of which thero is a total'entry of 152,' which may be claimed as a Dominion leoord.' Orpingtons retain their popularity, and are strongly represented in both fancy and utility. There are 40 birds in competition in the utility black classes. § Wyandotte* '■ nr'e well represented' by Silvers and Whites. Hamburgs also are strongly represented. The barred Plymouth Rock is another old breed that is represented this year. Utility White Leghorns igain make a fine display, tblere being large entries in the classes for 'these. There, are also good . entries -in Brown Leghorns. Rhode Island Reds pro penned in large •numbers: Close on 200 bantams are penned,' this section shotting the satisfactory increase of 40 entries. _ Ducks are about up to the average entries, and the same may be said of pigconsYln canaries, the Yorkshires nro the leading features. Norwich canaries arc caged up to the usual numbers, and there, is a good representation of finches, etc. . Cats have been provided for this year, arid-.will be shown.on the last day only. .. : ••

Tho association has for many years had-local- judged.but this year the old custom -of. securing. outside , judges has been : reverted to.
