TRAINS COLLIDE
ENGINES AND TRUCKS DAMAGED, By Telegraph-Press Association. Auckland, July 1. Between 1 and 2 this morning a col*' lision occurred at Te Kauwhata between a mods train from Auckland and ft specmeat train from Horotiu. Tho goods trlin from Auckland pulled on to the. siding to allow another goods train already in the station to leaver but did not ]ea-ro sufficient clearance ■at tho end of tho loop, with the result that tho Horotiu'train washed into the engine Both engines awl thirteen trucks of -tho good* train and . a truck of the meat train were damaged, and the line was for : four hours, holding up tho Main Trunk train.
