POSTING OF SENIOR CADETS PARADE AT GARRISON HALL The annual posting of Senior Cadets to the Territorials lias been completed in No. 5 Group: and last nicht. at a parade at the Garrison' Hall, Buckle Street,.-536 trainees were handed over to their new units. The d'slribution was as follows:6th Mounted Hifloa. 18: D Battery. 19: Garrison Artillory. 130: Divisional Signal Company. 10; No. 4 Company New Zealand Field Engineers, 60: sth Regiment. 217: Army Servlco Corps. 30; No. 4' lield Ambulance. 25: Post and Telegraph Engineers, 27. in nosting cadets to tho Territorials a verv complete system is followed. On reachinc the age of' 18 years, eaeli cftdet is medically examined, and, if passed lit, is Riven tho opportunity of traimne with whatever unit of the Territorials he prefers to .loin. He is asked to state anv special Qualifications he may possess.,his trade or profession, and the name of ins employer. Ab far as possible, cadets are posted to units which they des.re, but consideration is always (riven, to the Interests' of employers. In the posting notices which were Bcr-'-on each Senior Cadet to be transferred In Groun 5 this year, Captain W. M. Hell, group officer, expressed the gratification of the' group at the, high standard of efficiency which. w attained by the wholo of tfie Benior Cadctß during the traimne yew 1919-20. Various cadet teams repressed 'their companies at the I'almerston Korth competitions and earned off all the prizes. The standard of musketry efficiency proved at the croup riflo'mwt nR to be much higher than heretofore, whilst the tournament at the Basin in which a large number of Senior Cadets competed, was a ereat success. He was proud to record that H.B.H. the Prince of Wales commented most favourably on tho steadiness and discipline of alraiik« of cadets whilst on parade at Newtown Park, and at the Parliament BuildbiKS. "As vou are aware," stated Captain Bell, "Group 5 has roachod this -high standard only by the keen co-operation of all con„„rncd. Bv this I mean that you yourself have been one of the important factors and I wish to impress upon you how anxious I am that you wUT carry this eood record into the reirltoriai Force It i» regretted that owing to there bei.nK only a limited number of vacanoles in the technical units, it lias not been possible to post every cadet to I]ni ! he most desires, but every endeavour has been made in thiß direction. Please remember that all branches of the f'ir? n, TB cauallv honourable, and are Muallv neces-W for the final success of the New Zealand Military Forces. _ After the oadots wero handed over to tw new units last evenine they were sworn in as Territorials and were measured for uniforms.
