TURMOIL IN IRELAND
o THE KIDNAPPED GENERAL . RETALIATION BY SOLDIERS By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Hoc. Juno 29, 10 p.m.) London, June 25. Soldiers, in retaliation for the capture of-Brigadier-General Lucas, inarched 400 strong through the Femoy streets at midnight on Sunday, smashing windows and looting shops, including jewellers, doing enormous damage. The residents were terrorised, and several shopkeepers weje threatened by the soldiers saying: "Unloss General Lucas is released 'by Monday night, up goes the town." Slilitary oars and aeroplanes are scouring west and south Ireland searching for the kidnapped General. Destroyers and piitrot boats have been warned to examine all passing craft, liiots occurred at Lismore, County Waterford, on Sunday night, and the town was partially wrecked, shops and houses beingj looted duping bomb-throwing and rifle-tiring.--Aus.-N.Z.
