INFORMATION -BEING OBTAINED. Ths Finance Committee reported to the City Council last night that it had'received a resolution from the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association uring th« council to consider the question of establishing municipal markets for fish, fruit, and vegetables, and to use the revenue derived from the Royal Oak block an establishing and carrying on the markets. The committee added that it was obtaining information with reference to markets, established in other 1 centres. • The Mayor said that if the City Coun cil could do- anything to make i;he food of tho people cheaper, then it ought "to take action, but all the information pos' sible should be obtained before the council committed itself to too big a policy.' All the information obtainable would be placed before the next meeting of the council.
