BOYCOTT OF HUNGARY
CAUSES RESIGNATION OF GOVERNMENT. (Rec. June 24, 8.5 p.m.) Paris, June 23. As a result of tho boycott the Hungarian Government, has resigned.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [British Labour delegates who visited Hungary -recently reported that many cases of murder, torture, and wrongful imprisonment of workers were substantiated, and stated that tho responsibility rested on the gendarme reserve, consisting of army officers and non-coms., whom tho Government was unable to control. Tho Hungarian Government acknowledged the existence of the "white terror" against workmen and Jews, and announced ill© relentless application of martial law against perpetrators of crimes against classes, nationalities, or sects, for which the death penalty would be proclaimed. The French Confederation of Labour then urged seamen, railwaymen, dock workers, and postal workors to join in a boyoott of Hungary. Messages from Vienna received this week stated that the workers of the posts and telographs, the railways, and navigation, in Austria', Czecho-Slovakia, Poland, and Italy had joined in ihe boycott isolating Hungary as a penalty for the oppression of the Labour unions in that country, and that the boycott had completely suspended communications, except for Government diplomatic messages.l
