TECHNOLOGICAL LIBRARY
SCATTERED MATERIAL IN WELLINGTON. The desirability; of establishing a technological library in .Wellington was mentioned again at the meeting of the Board of Bcience and Art on Wednesday. Members stated that the Dominion Museum contained some 30,000 books and papers of a scientific natoe. The Geological Survey Department had 5000 books, the Agricultural Department had a big unclassified library, and other public Departments held many thousands of scientific works. i Members of the board discussed in an informal way several suggestions for the accommodation of these books under a single roof, in tho hands of a librarian. It was stated that no public Department had space for all these books.- The present lack of arrangement was greatly to the disadvantage of students, and prevented- full use being made of the books, but there seemed to be no early prospect of the erection of a suitable building. The matter was left in the hands of a committee for consideration. '
