ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

A meeting of Wellington Football Association was held last evening, Mr. W. Auld presiding.

An application from Institute Club to play Martinliorough at Martinborough on July 10 was granted. The South Wellington Club applied for permission' to enter a team in the seventh division. The application was referred to the Fixtures Committee.

Mr H. Yeomen, referee, reported that in a recent match he had been requested to aliow a substitute to replace a player who had retired injured, and that his decision not allowing this had not met with the approval of supporters and spectators, on the held, and he requested that the fact that substitutes in such cases cannot be allowed aftor commencement of games should he more widely brought before the players and supporters. The meeting decided to do as required by Mr. l'eomon, and also deolded that the matter be brought under the notice of the Referees' Association.

It waß roported that the Basin Reserve was available, for the Brown Shield match, Auckland v.
