GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF AUSTRALIA
LORD FORSTER APPOINTED. London, June 14. Lord Forster, formerly M.P. for Sovenoaks (ICcnt), has been appointed Governor-General of Australia. «Lord Forster is a sound Constitutionalist, and is regarded as a capable administrator. He played cricket against the Australians during their visits to Eng-land.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.

[Lord Forster, who has only recently been raised to tho Peerage, was as Mr. H. W. Forster member for Sovenoaks since 1892. Sinco 1915 he has been Financial Secretary to the War Offico and a member of the Army Council. He was educated at Eton and New College, Oxford: and in cricket played in the Eton eleven, (lie Oxford eleven, and for Gentlemen v. Players. Ho was married in 1890 to the daughter of Lord Montagu of Beaulieu.]
