TERRITORIAL TRAINING

COURSES FOR OFFICERS AND N.C.O.'s. Four comDuHsoTV classification courees for Qfficers and n.c.o.'s of the Territorials in the "Wellington military district will bo hold at General Headquarters Camp, Trentham, and the forts, Wellington (for garrison artillery only) during the next four months. Each of tho courses will be of one week's duration, and they will commence on the following datesi— First course, July 2; second course, August 27; third course, October 15; fourth course. November 19. Tho abovo four periods lmvc been selected to accommodate and provide for the requirements of the district as a whole. No CXGU»3 for non-attendance other than «tre:no ill-health, coTtifiea to by a medicul officer, can be accepted. All officers and n.c.o.'s of tho New Zealand Expeditionary Forco (1914-1918) with oversea.") service will not be reouired to attend nny of the above classification courses, but may do so voluntarily. All offioors and n.c.o.'s attending these compulsory courses will receivo pay and allowances as given when attendine an ordinary Territorial training camp.

At a meeting of the Campbell Street School Committee at Palmorston North it was announced that tho roll of honour commemorating the pupils of the school who had lost their lives at the war had been completed and arrangements were made for tho unveiling ceremony to take place on Juno SO. The principal speakers will he Colonel Mclvill, Officer Commanding the Wellington Military District, and Mr. F. Pirani, chairman of tho Wanganni Education Board. It has now boen definitely decided that in General and Lady Hirdwood's visit to Palmarston North a civic reception tvili be held, to lie followed by a citizens' bell, and committees hovo been formed to make tho nc-wesary arrangements. Miss Amy Elizabeth Mmv, eldest daughter of tho late Alexander Frederiok Miifr, Greytown, died at C p.m. on Monday. Tho deceased had boen ill for somo ttmo past. '
