LAND SALE AT LEVIN
'By Telegraph.—Special Oorreipondent. Pajnwrston North, June 15. At Levin to-day Messrs. Abraham and Williams offered by auction, on behalf of Mr. F. S. Easton, the Ratiawa Estate of £991 acres, the-bulk being pastoral land with the rest good dairying property handy to Levin. There was cn exceedingly large attendance, and small Motions suitable for dairying met with a fail demand, but with the unsatisfactory otitJook in the wool and went markets pastoral land was neglected.. Five dairying sections were sold at prices, ranging from •SG9 to .£BB per acre,, but none of tho pastoral land changed hands, the homestead block with all improvements only eliciting a bid of .£l2 10s. per ocro. The sections which sold were: 68 acres at £69 to G. E. Tantrum (Otaki), 119 V acres at 10s. to A. M'Leavy (Ohau), slj acres at £82 to S. E. Deacon (Wanganui), 51} aores at XB3 to L. 1 N. Jeffries (Bunp.ythorpe), and 4SJ acres at ,£25 10s. to W. Bolton (Otaki). The total of the sale reached .£22,000.
