BRITISH ISLES DAVIS CUP TEAM. (Rec. June 12, 5.5 p.m.) London, June 10. A newspaper controversy is progressing regarding tho British Isles Davis Cup selections owing to the eligibility of Randolph Lycott, also the New Zealander. F. M. B. Fisher, to play in the British team according to Ithe international regulations, rule 9, seeing that Lycett was. born in Birmingham and Fisher--, has qualified residentially. Both are playing a great game in the present tournament, showing . tho ■ strongest double throughout tho country. Some newspapers are urging Australia to reseat their inclusion, but other critics explain that the' Australians are fine sporty and will not dream of offering any objection.—Reuter.

At Beckenhaai, the semi-final of -the men's doubles, Roper Barrett and Lycett beat Shimidzu and R. White, 6—l, G-1.-Aue.-N.Z. Cable' Aran. (Eeo. June 13,11.40 p.m.) London, June 12. In the final Kingscote beat Shimidzu, 7—5, 3—2. Shimidzu retired. A thunderstorm delayed the match and interfered with play during the first set. In tliio final of the ladies' ohampionship Miss Ryan is leading from Mrs. M'Naiv, It was decided to finish the match at the Eastbourne tournament.
