MUCH BUSINESS ON HAND;

The first full meeting of' Cabinet that has been held for several weeks will be held to-day. It is probable that tho sitting will continue for most of the day, ami that other meetings of 6imilar importance and length will be held uurjng succeeding days. Several Ministers have been away from Wellington a good deal recently, and owing to their absence some important matters have had to bo held over. One of the matters for consideration to-day will be the death sentence of the murderer Denis Gunn. These sentences are always reviewed by Cabinet, for it is only on the advice of his Ministers that the representative of His Majesty can act in the matter of exercising or refraining from exercising tiie Royal prerogative, of pardon. A petition 'has been presented for the reprieve of Gunn.
