At a meeting of the New Zealand Hookey Association it was agreed to play 1 shield matches against Auckland in tho following order: Nelson, Hawke'a Bay, Manawatu, Wanganui,. and Canterbury, also to write to Auckland and Nelson suggesting that the first match bo played' not later than July 3. Challenges by Thames and Poverty Bay against Waikato, who hold the Nor'don Cup, wero fixed in that order, the first match to be played on July 10. With respect to referees for the shield matches, it was decided to endeavour to mako appointments through the New Zealand Eeferees'' Association; also to writs to affiliated associations and the Eeferees' Association asking for a list, of referees competent to control shield or Nordon,Cup matches, and who are Drepared to act outside their own district.
