For Lot 2 CSB3 acres) (hero w."ro a good many applicants, including several from Chrislchurch, and surprise was caused when tho lot was called for ballot by tho announcement that it was reserved for a son of Hie vendor, a returned soldior. A protest was inado at once, and at a meoling held after the ballot doubt was expressed whether such a reservation, oven with duo notice, was cither legal or fair.
